Adoption Option is a New Zealand-based organisation that provides general information and guidance on adoption in New Zealand. Reece’s Rainbow and National Down Syndrome Adoption Network provide specific information for adoption in relation to children with Down Syndrome.

Adoption Option educate people about adoption in New Zealand. Their aim is to help pregnant women understand that adoption can be a positive option if a woman is not in a position to parent her child. Another part of their education role is explaining to prospective adoptive parents and health professionals how the adoption process works in New Zealand and that open adoption is now the norm.

Reece's Rainbow

Reece's Rainbow is a global down syndrom adoption organisation, whose demand exceeds supply. They work to rescue orphans with Down syndrome through the gift of adoption, to raise awareness for all of the children who are waiting in 25 countries around the world, and to raise funds as adoption grants that help adoptive families afford the cost of adopting these beautiful children.

The National Down Syndrome Adoption Network provides information to birth families who may be seeking alternatives to parenting as they prepare for the arrival of their child. Making an adoption plan for a child with Down syndrome is a loving choice and can be the right choice for some families.
